Frank Lloyd Wright Exhibition

by gann05

iitAIAS will be taking a trip to the Milwaukee Art Museum to visit the Frank Lloyd Wright Exhibition currently on display. This is a great opportunity to visit a building in which is famously designed by Santiago Calatrava and will house the works of Wright. Dean Sennott will be in attendance with his class on Wright, offering an academic insight. This will be a lengthy day but will allow attendees to stay at the museum for as long as they wish or venture out into the surrounding grounds (exp. Eerro Saairnen’s War Memorial). Bus Departs Chicago at 9:00 am and will arrive back in Chicago no later than 8:00 pm. Tickets can be bought at the contact listed on the below poster or at said times during the week of the 21st, which will be announced at a later date.

Hot Dog Stand Toronto

by gann05

AIAS national conference was in Toronto, Ontario this year and our frequented restaurants while in the city were the hot dog stands. 2 vendors were located on Front Street across from our hotel (The Fairmont Royal York) where the above picture was taken of Louis about to enjoy and a couple blocks down by the entrance to the CN tower. A third was near Dundas Square where the below picture was taken, the pigeons were very aggressive and Andres seemed a little surprised as one tried to snatch a hot dog. A certain technique is used among vendors where they cook the dog the traditional way, then slice it to shreds and place it in a bun. Next step is to load it up with condiments located on the sides of the cart, the slits allow for the flavors to mingle and mix making for an AMAZING hot dog! Highly suggested stop whilst in Toronto.
